Happy Birthday, Anna!

Today my oldest is 10. I still can't believe it. I really can't. I still think of her as a little girl. I wonder if that will ever go away.

Happy Birthday, my girl. You are a carbon copy of your daddy and unlike me in so many different ways (except worrying . . we're just alike there). You're a natural leader, patient, athletic and musically-inclined. All things that I am definitely not. You're also kind, caring, funny, and smart. I hope I had a little part in creating these parts of you. I'm so proud of you, I could never express just how much.

She is an extraordinary "little girl" and I continually see such potential in her. I see a wonderful, caring human being, a born politican, a natural teacher, and simply a good person.
(Can you tell I totally love her?)
In the words of Anna, "Yeah me!"

Maybe next year you will read your blog again before you make birthday plans. I only see 7 girls in these pics......what have you done with the others? Are their parents still looking for them?

It happens when you least expect it they grow up. My daughter will be 16 Monday. I look at old video and it seems like she was 7 yesturday. I am proud of the person she has become and sad that she has lost that innocent child quality. She wanted a sleepover and I said no way been there done that learned my lesson. We had a bonfire (southern thing) with hot dogs, chips and smores. Boys and girls, almost as bad as a sleepover.

My youngest is 22. She's taller than me, but I still think of her as my little girl. :^)

Seriously, once they hit 24 or 25--they actually act a bit more like adults--most of the time.
