Green Acres

Mark's been all about the farm lately. He became a grandfather again. To a calf. Well, that sounds sick, but you know what I mean.

All of the kids, especially John M. love to ride out in the pasture and see the new baby calves. We took a ride out Saturday and Mark and Emma rode back in on Socks, one of Mark's horses.

Thus, the picture.

What a happy little farm family you have! Did you ever think you'd marry a farmer when you grew up? LOL!

My husband loves horses too! He doesn't have any of his own but he worked on a horse farm for years in his younger years.

Very pretty picture!

Oh, I would love to be raising my family in a place where they could ride a horse out to see a new baby calf in the pasture! Around here, we do most of our riding in a mini-van and it's to go and see the most recent strip-mall or Walgreens that's popped up.

Sweet picture too. :)

Love the picture. I grew up in the country and we had horses when I was little and sometimes I miss that! What a great way to raise kids. :)

Is that green I see? I can't wait to see it around here! We used to have horses when we lived down south. I know my kids would enjoy them, but now they ride the 4-wheel kind.

I am such a city girl - I would love to have animals for the boys to learn from like that. Way cool!

Oh wow, my daughter would be real jealous if she saw that. She loves horses. We don't have one but she goes to horse camp every summer. They say that she's a natural and it's amazing since she doesn't have a horse of her own. It's english style but she loves it anyhow. I had horses growing up but my husbands not much of an animal person. Weird and not fair but oh well.
Nice photo shot. Tell Mark congrats from me on becoming a grandfather. hehe

A little known secret - I spent 8 long months of my life in Wisconsin and the only job I could get was on a farm milking cows. The fondest memories I have in life are helping the little calves come into the world. What a pleasure. I love calves!
