Scenes from the life of FroggieMom

This is the lake that sits in front of my house. It was once part of the Mississippi River but oxbowed off many years ago. It sits on one side of my street and the Mississippi River sits off in the distance on the other side, so most people call the area that I live in 'The Island' because it almost is completely surrounded by water. It's a really beautiful area, though I often take it for granted. I'll never forget my Daddy used to say that the two most beautiful sunsets he'd ever seen were in Saucilito, CA and right in our front yard, with the sun setting over the lake.

This is what I found in my backyard a few weeks ago. One of Mark's horses tied to our trampoline while Emma brushed her. As my sister would say, W.T., let's all say it together. . 'White Trash'! That's us. Welcome to our corner of the world. Take a load off.

Here's my cute little face. This is where he eats every meal at home. He'll say 'Hungee, Mama' and go plant himself right in this chair until some food magically appears. Notice his noopie to the right there. Have I mentioned he's gone without said noopie for a whole week and a half! He quit cold turkey.

Last but not least, here's a group of us shooting the bull at Mark's little birthday celebration. That's my sister jabbing at the table, her husband, Hawkeye (yes, that's what we all call him) with his back toward the camera chowing down, and my mom, me and Anna in the corner there. I like this picture because Mark caught us all in action, doing what we do best. . . talking.

Peace out from FroggieLand.

OMGosh! I am so jealous! My dh would DIE a happy man if we lived right on that lake. And my girl would be beside herself if she had the ability to brush a horse in our back yard. And your "cute little face" looks so darn huggable! Last but not least, by favorite thing to do is talk, talk, talk. What beautiful pics!

Love the pics of your family....great view you have too! I think I might have flown over your house on the way to landing at Houston?!?!

One of the things I do BEST is talk, talk, talk!!

Talkers? My family is, too! Do you guys talk over each other, each person trying to be loudest? We do.

Great pictures! FroggieLand is a beautiful place.

That's it....I'm moving to your neighborhood! :)

...and HOW the heck did you get John M. to quit cold turkey? I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how I'm going to ween Adam off of his. He only gets his at bedtime, naptime and long car rides but still...he will NOT go to bed without it....I'm beginning to think he'll still be going to be with it at age 27.

Renee, you are NOT white trash. You have all your teeth, you didn't marry your first cousin, you keep your house neat, etc.

The horse is an added bonus to the yard. And the lake, the lake is beautiful and I'm envious also that you have this to look at on a daily basis.

Our area is called golf island ~ surrounded on one side by the country club golf course (we're not members) and the train tracks, our neighborhood is 3 little streets in a triangle and a desired part of town even if it's the wrong-side.
Nothing like yours though....how fabulous to live on a river! I like seeing your family gathered like that, I wish I lived closer to mine.
Gotta wonder though, living that close to a river that used to be part of the Mississippi, do you have snakes around??

You would be surprised how many people would wish for what you have. That is a great view, and you have family that comes over and animals for you children to love. Everyone has a little of that in them.

Such a beautiful view!!! I'm all for looking at that every morning! Growing up I had horses and we tied them to everything - I didn't know it was a W.T. trait - just a teen thing!!

Thanks for the peek into southern living and I say that with the best southern drawl I can muster - me being from the great white north 'n all... ;-)

That view is INCREDIBLE! Wow! How beautiful and peaceful. And I'm with you on the family of talkers. We all like to "talk over each other" as my hubby observes. Glad John M. has quit the paci! Thanks for the little peak into your world.

Wow, what a beautiful view you have! A lucky girl!!
LOL on the talking family. Mine is full of them! You have to yell sometimes just to get a word in edge-wise. My dh didn't know what he got himself into when he joined my family!!

What a georgous setting to live in! I especially love the pic with the horse. Only in the South dawlin' - do we know how to live or what? The expression on the horsie's face is just priceless. Of course John M. is just as precious as always. Such a big boy now.

Have a great weekend! :)

It looks like you're getting ready to put the horse on the trampoline so he can do some jumpin'!

What a beautiful view indeed!

My little guy always goes to his counter chair and says "faffles" (which means waffles) when he is hungry. LOL
