Grace In Small Things

I'm taking the lead from Jess and Chantal and joining in with this little project called 'Grace In Small Things'.

Please leave a comment and let me know if you found grace in something small today.

1.) A lunch spent laughing with friends.
2.) Mark sharing a little bit of good news with me on the phone.
3.) An email from my sister, reminding me that we're not polar opposites.
4.) A message from my cousin to say that we're in her prayers.
5.) Sunshine for most of the day! (this helps b/c I've been friggin' cold way too much lately!)

My boss returned from his holiday vacation today (he's been gone 7 weeks) I have to admit I was kind of dreading him coming back and was not looking forward to going into work today.
But then when he got in this morning it was actually nice to see him and I was glad to see him. He's always in such a good mood and just see his face made me smile. :)

I spent all day catching up with a friend I completely lost touch with since high school. We did this via Facebook.

I also made myself go jog even though I feel run down and like I'm getting sick. Working on my discipline.

I got my sister to come jog with me, so she got exercise in spite of it being really cold, which she hates to jog in.

Thanks for commenting, girls. I've been trying to make myself notice grace in small things today; I think I've already gotten 3 things and it's still early!

I realized late yesterday that it was five years to the day that we left for Omaha, NE for Anthony's transplant evaluation.

Instead of dwelling on that like I do every year, I instead got to scold Anthony for throwing rocks on the playground and meted out his punishment.

The best feeling is that he IS here to misbehave and punish. So many mothers don't have that grace.

I like the idea.
I try not to take the good everyday things for granted!

I'm working on this kind of thing myself right now!

Instead of freaking out when I slept in and was late for work, knowing I was late anyway I dawdled and played with the boys a bit before I left. And though the traffic was worse due to my late departure time, I watched a beautiful sunrise on a frigid winter morning as I was stuck in traffic.
