Feelin' like a family . . . at least for now

Today was good. You know why?
Because, today, for the first time in a long time, I felt like a family.
Mark was off of work; his first day off since he started his job in November (not including the weekends).

I had to work, so he kept the kids. I didn't have to get them up and ready for the first time in 6 months.
I.made.it.to.work.early. Someone please hang a medal around my neck and stick a gold star on my forehead.

He took them to visit MawMaw and PawPaw and took Em' to pitching practice.
He spent time with his boy. And they were there when I got home. And we actually got to hang around a bit.

Something as simple as that made me happier than I have been in a while.
I want my family back. My whole family. Hopefully, one day soon, that will happen.
Happy Almost Father's Day, Mark. Without you, we just can't be us.

Love,

Froggie

Nice! Sometimes it is the best feeling in the world to have someone else take the reins.

What a sweet post. I hope Mark realizes how lucky he is to have such a beautiful family that loves and misses him.

Happy late father's day to you all.

Made it to work early??? You get a permanent star glued to your skull forever!!

With Tom working across the entire United States.. I know how you feel. A family again would be nice.

Oh Renee! Don't make me cry. But, I know exactly how you feel. When Cory travels a lot I just feel adrift and that we are not whole.

Your post was so sweet. I know how you feel, my hubby is out of town and there is a gap in the house without him. Now that my heart is soft from reading your post I better get back to work.

I’m reaching out to talk to parents about the Maya & Miguel program as part of a marketing project I’m working on with Scholastic. I don’t know if you’re familiar with Maya & Miguel, a show on PBS in the afternoons -- http://pbskidsgo.org/mayaandmiguel -- that emphasizes cultural diversity and language learning.

I found your post and thought I’d reach out to say hello and ask if you’d like to receive a free Maya & Miguel DVD. If you’d like to receive the DVD just email me at Kerri at boldmouth.com with your address and I’ll have it shipped it out to you.

If you do choose to blog about Maya & Miguel show or episodes on the DVD, please make it clear how you received the information. Our goal is to be open and honest with everyone we reach.

Yay for good days! We all need more of those and more time with our families.

I know how you feel......it is wonderful when you can all be together and enjoy a weekend or week especially when it happens so infrequently! There will be more of them....honest! Just takes a little time.

Way too belated commenting on this but - I feel ya. Kudos for you for not only knowing how to stop and appreciate the good times but also for how supportive you are for the situation at hand. You're the kind of
chick I'd be honored to have at my picnic table anytime. :)
