That wacky Aunt Flo

Okay, girls (MarkD and Spikey, y'all may want to sit this one out, as it deals with the 'P' word), can someone please tell me what the deal is with my menstrual cycle these days? Ever since Aunt Flo came back after I finished nursing John M. (last May, I think), things have not been right.

This is the way it goes, Aunt Flo comes in with a little light bag, you couldn't even call it a true 'carry-on', and then her little bag gets lighter and lighter. This can go on for close to a week, a full 6 days this month! Just when it looks like she's left town all together, she comes in with a complete set of luggage! And some furniture too. It's not pretty. But, she just stays 2 or 3 days tops and then she's gone, quicker than a wink. All in all, her stay can last anywhere from 10-12 days? WTF?
I know I'm older now and my hormones are out of whack, but still.

Do any of you have similar experiences? Please tell me that this is temporary and I'll be 'normal' again one day. Please.

Even if you have to lie a little. ;^)

LMAO! LOVED the way you 'explained' this!!!

10-12 days???? WTF is right!!

Sorry tho, don't know what to tell ya. I did not breastfeed and Aunt Flo didn't waste any time settling back in after A was born....with her usual visits for about 4 days.

Oh girl, I don't know what to tell you. After I nursed all my kids, Aunt Flo's visits returned as normal...4 days max. Maybe your doc would know.

after my 4th baby .....Aunt Flo started coming at very strange times and sometimes with light bags and sometimes with her entire possessions. Honestly.....it took about a year before it all got sorted out and now hehehe I am having problems with her again.....last month was the first time Aunt Flo had a regular visit in a year. Faith will be 4 in May...and I nursed her for 20 months......sorry I don't have better news...hopefully Aunt Flo will get a good kick in the ass and start coming round with the right set of bags and at the scheduled times!

It's been a while since I've breast fed but I don't recall and weird stays.

However, witn the getting older thing....Flo's visits here are with only an average sized back pack and stays less than a week. BUT she seems to be visiting sooner each month. My GAWD...here's hoping I don't end up pregnant, lol.

UGH I truly hate when my Aunt Flo comes for an extended stay. She is pure evil. I wish there was a switch we could hit to turn her away when we don't "need" her.

I am very regular as I am taking the pill. Maybe you need to use progesterone cream?

Oh my gosh, I loved the way you described your flow via luggage! That is too funny. I had Emma in May of 2004 and had my tubes tied in June of that year. Ever since then Flo has not been right. I used to be 28 days and Flo would only stay for 4 days tops. Now sometimes I only go 15 days between and for the first two days I can't leave the house. It's awful. I keep meaning to make a gyn appt but never get around to it! I'm sure you will be normal soon! ;-)

I can't help you because I was thinking about doing a post on how I haven't seen Aunt Flo in years. Seriously. I thought she'd be back since I weaned T last month, but nothing. Oh well, I mean, I have a love/hate relationship with houseguests but if you think they're going to come but they never show, that's just rude!

Can't help but can commiserate. I hate Aunt Flo and any of her crappy luggage. Remember the old saying, Fish and Guests both stink after three days....

Ooooh, the fish comment. sorry. takes me back to high school.

Wow, that sounds like me lately! You described it to the t. I never breast fed though, but I have never been iregular before. It's been going on since after I had Alex. I have to scheduele an apt for the gyn. I'll let you know what she says (if I ever get the time to actually go to MY doctor, instead of our pediatrician.

Talk to your doctor about this. It could be just because of nursing and it could be something else. CALL YOUR DOCTOR. Don't mess around with it.
