DMV

Has anyone out there EVER gone to the Department of Motor Vehicles and come out in under 90 minutes?

Were any of the employees moving faster than an inch a minute?

Did anyone appear to be in the slightest bit of a hurry to do anything? At all?

Just wondering.

I'm just a little, tad bit frustrated with that place.

Please, not only do they move like slugs, every last one of them has ALWAYS got a puss on. Nobody is ever smiling or acts like they have the least bit of interest in their job. I guess they think they are doning us a favor, ugh!!

The best is when you stand at the counter for what seems like an eternity while you watch them either have a conversation amongst eachother like you don't even exist or they "pretend" to be doing something instead of helping you. Not a favorite place of mine.

I have to admit that the DMV here in Colorado is wonderful. It wasn't even crowded. And the people were pleasant.

Makes up for the many hours I spent in the DMV back in New Jersey where no one even spoke English.

We have a automated machine (in the mall no less) that I can get my licence, etc, done in under 5 minutes! Weeeeeeeee!

We have 2 DMVs here in San Diego and one is super busy (which I avoid) and the other you are in and out in no time (even during their lunch break)

I have once but I think that the only reason was bad weather outside. So there, I go, asking myself why I was silly enough to go out and challenge myself to drive in it. From Wisconsin and the weather can be that way once in a while. Don't worry, I'm sure that it will never happen again.

Caught your blog from Lala's site - great blogging entries!

I know what you mean, though my last experience at the DMV was pleasant.

I SOOO know what you mean. (up here it's called Secretary of State) I dread going there. I don't think I've ever gone and NOT had to wait less than hour.

Although recently I found an office that not very many people know about and the last time I went there...I was in and out in less than 10 minutes, I couldn't believe it! Even though it is slightly out of the way of anything, I will always go to that one from now on!!! :)

My license expired in July. The machine was broken that makes the licenses. I now have in my wallet, my expired license, and a folded up 8.5 x 11.5 inch paper that says I paid for a new license and when they fix the machine, I'll get one. If I get pulled over, I have to show it too!
That's big, folded up in your wallet!

I hate the DMV. I swear the last time that I went there, I stood in the first line to get a number for quite a while and when I got to the front of the line the mad woman at the front asked me if I owned a vehical and I told her yes, and she told me that I had to have the registration for it and the title so I had to get out of line, call my husband, tell him to come with everything, and then wait in line for another 30 mins just to get to find out that since the vehical was in my husbands name it didn't matter if I had it or not. So then, I get to get my number and sit in the uncomfortable chairs, if any and waited for 3 freekin hours only to find out that there were only two people working the whole place b/c everyone else took their lunch break at the same time. So by the time I got up there, I was so pissed off I couldn't help but take an awful picture. Again I don't just hate government offices, I loath them.

And just imagine if they actually went through with the medical side and did all government like so many other contries. I would probably leave here and live somewhere else. I am so against the government taking over the medical field.

Oh, me, me! I go to the express DMV on Perkins (it's in the shopping center at the intersection of Burbank and Bluebonnet)...so if you're ever out there, GO!

I've gotten in, gotten my new pictures (ew), and been gone in less than 20 minutes! NO LIE.

Laurie,

I should have talked to you before. I didn't know there was one there. I heard about one on Siegen but thought it was too far out! I'll know next time . . if I'm not too old to remember!
Thanks.

Uh, the last time I went to the DMV I was almost escorted out for the hissy fit I through. I try and bring everything including the kitchen sink but of course, I was missing one freakin' piece of paper! I started losing it and I see the security dude step closer and decided not to make my hubs come and get me out of the pokey.

Uggh! The DMV out where I'm at (only about an hour away from you it seems) is terrible too. The people aren't nice and it takes FOREVER to get anything!

I noticed a sign on a new little building yesterday down the road that said DMV express - I was wondering what that meant. I hope the one opening up out here is as quick as the one Laurie was talking about!

i HATE the dmv with a passion. yesterday went there to get my driver's license, and i failed ... heres why. the guy testing me was such a jerk, he begins the test by telling me how dirty my car is. and so 5 mins in to the test he tells me to merge into a lane full of cars ... i had no room to merge but he scoled me for not merging ... what the fuck was i suppose to do merge and hit a car? and then after the test he tells me i failed and told me to "pratice" he said to work on my speed ceause i go to slow .. the only time i went slow was when i was in a school zone ... i went 25 because there were some kids there ... and the posted speed limit was 25 for a school zone if there are chilren present. so i fallowed the law ... i mean thats what i thought i had to do right? well i remembered that last year my friend told me she failed her test the first time because she went 35 in a school zone instead of 25 and there were no children present. HELLO WTF thats not fair she went 35 and was suppose to go 25 and failed i went 25 but i guess was suppose to go 35 and failed. how the fuck is this fair? those dmv assholes are all rude and lazy, they take forever to do anything and they get all pissed off at you for going to the dmv in the first place. and i believe that our fucking tax dollars pay for there salary. we get fucked up the ass cause of tax just so the dmv assholes can make money fucking us up the ass at the dmv. the dmv SUCKS!
